Q: What are the benefits I get from a yESAO membership?
A: As a yESAO member, you will get connected to a network of like-minded peers in the field of artificial organs. This greatly facilitates knowledge exchange across borders and may help to join forces on specific research questions. Further, with the yESAO membership you are eligible to apply for the yESAO Exchange Award, which will provide financial support for a short research stay abroad. With the yESAO membership, you are furthermore typically eligible for a reduced registration fee for the annual yESAO meeting where the yESAO community meets to discuss the latest scientific findings.

Q: What are the formal requirements to apply for the yESAO Exchange Award?
A: The yESAO Exchange Award is open for all yESAO members with an age below 35, who did not already win the award in the past. Applicants need to find a collaborating host research institution for the exchange and submit a short application in compliance with the advertised call for submission. The opening of the next call for submissions will be advertised on Linkedin and on the yESAO Website.

Q: Registration: do I need to be a member of yESAO to take part at the yESAO Conference?
A: No. But if you are not an ESAO or IFAO member, a fee of 85€ is requested (50€ participation fee + 35€ of Membership) for the participation at the yESAO Conference only. This does not include the yESAO social events. Additional information is available on the ESAO 2023 official website, in the section "Registration & Fees".
Q: Is there an age barrier to join the yESAO program?
A: Anyone can participate at the yESAO Conference. But yESAO membership is for people below 35 years of age only.
Q: Is there a dress code for the yESAO congress? What do you suggest to pack?
A: There is not strict dress code for the yESAO Meeting. Typically, people will dress smart casual, thus a combination of "business" cloths with a few casual clothes (e.g. blue jeans paired with a formal jacket).
